CARACAS is a two-piece latin post-punk rock band from Vancouver BC formed by the Venezuelan brothers Javier and Victor Badillo. Their music has been compared to the late 70s seminal punk bands The Minutemen, The Stranglers and to the 90's blues rock duo The White Stripes.
Vocalist/Drummer Javier Badillo and Guitarist/Vocalist Victor Badillo sing about heartbreaks and why they're good for you. They muse about getting by in the urban 21st century. They rant about western society's kick on young people's self esteems. They scream in both English and Spanish. All to syncopated, upbeat, melodic and original latin punk rock, oozing fiercely independent attitude.
Javier and Victor previously played together in the popular Malaysian theatrical punk rock band (LyMe) where they rocked concerts with tens of thousands of fans, toured, recorded albums, and influenced a generation of underground rock in Malaysia - all in pure DIY spirit.
